Hello everyone! My name is Mike and we at Signsharks Sign Service, Inc. recently purchased a new Craftsman 510 Vortech Router and are consistently working to make our sign fabrication processes more efficient. We are currently building a set of 30" tall channel letters and are cutting out the .040 aluminum backs (Pictured). Next we will be cutting out faces from some white acrylic we have. I will add pictures next week of that and the finished product. The overall set-up of the machine probably took us around 4 weeks once we finally had a grasp on everything (programs to run as well as finding space for it in the shop). When we first got the idea to get a CNC router to help with the production side of our business we had no prior experience with the technology whatsoever. With a lot of help from the friendly staff at Vortech we were able to fully take advantage of this great machine. Each week I will be updating you all with some of the things we are doing here in our shop with the Vortech Router and some of the applications that it could be used for. We are very proud owners of the Vortech Router and couldn't be more pleased out of the technical support from Vortech. Keith and Brent, thanks for all the support and for coming down to help with set-up! If anyone has any questions they need answered please be sure to email me at mike@signsharks.com and I will do my best to either answer the questions you have in e-mail back or with your permission I will add it to the weekly blog.
